Laugharne is a small village lying on the estuary of the River Tâf in the Welsh county of Carmarthenshire
It is known for having been the home of Dylan Thomas from 1949 until his death in 1953, and is thought to have been an inspiration for the fictional town of Llareggub in Under Milk Wood. Here you will find Dylan Thomas.s famous boathouse along with an impressive 12th century castle.
Located within 20 miles of the village i spent my younger years at, this was a place i often visited.
Laugharne now does not have the same feel or attraction as it used to have. It is now much too commercialised and has not retained its once quiet charm and tranquility.
