I tend to walk to Newlyn most days as its a very pleasant walk from our home via Penlee Park and the Subtropical gardens to the seafront.
As Newlyn harbour is one of the few typical Cornish fishing ports still working. It is a fascinating place to visit and just watch the world go by.
The port of Newlyn and the W. Stevenson & Son families trawlers the the featured in one of the first reality programs in the "Deadliest Catch" vain back in the early 1980s
The family still fish from this port today and you can often see their trawlers arrive or depart the harbour if your present at the right time.
I really enjoy just sitting here as its so relaxing listening to the sea, the seagulls and the general coming and goings of a working port.
Watching the smaller boats come in and land their catch is a common sight here.
Off loading their catch at the dockside Storage facility.
